Questionnaire Editor · Free

Build your juror questionnaire — and keep it yours.

Turn your existing questionnaire, our standard questions, or a blank page into a court-ready, machine-scannable form. The editor runs on your computer, and Timbre Solutions never sees your questionnaire.

Open the editor Loads into your browser — about 28 MB the first time, then it's saved for next time. Nothing to install.

What it does

  1. Start your way: import your questionnaire (Word .docx or PDF), begin from our standard questions, or start blank.
  2. Edit: wording, answer types, yes/no follow-ups, 1-to-7 scales, tables — with the printed page previewed as you go. Your wording stays exactly as you write it.
  3. Download: a print-ready form, plus an editable copy you can reopen whenever you need to make changes.

Why it stays private

Your questionnaire is your work product. The editor's program comes from sjq.legal, but everything it does — importing, editing, building the PDF — happens on your computer. Files you import are read in your browser and never sent anywhere.

Saving is optional. With an early-access code you can save drafts here: each draft is encrypted in your browser with a passphrase only you know, so we can't read it. Saved drafts are deleted 30 days after your last save, with email reminders 15 and 5 days before.

Remember your passphrase

We never see or store it. If you forget your passphrase, your saved drafts cannot be recovered — by you or by us. Keep a downloaded copy of anything you can't afford to lose.

Before you start

  • Word and PDF only. Using WordPerfect or an older Word .doc? Save it as a PDF or .docx first, then import that.
  • Scanned pages can't be read. A PDF that's only pictures of pages has no text to import — start from our standard questions instead.
  • Print at Actual size (100%), not “Fit to page.” Most print dialogs default to Fit to page, which shrinks the form. Choose Actual size or 100% every time you print it.
  • Print double-sided. Most document scanners scan both sides of a page in one pass, so printing on both sides halves the scanning time as well as the paper.
  • Review every imported question. The import does most of the work and lists anything it wants you to check.
  • Use a current desktop browser. It's tested in Safari and Google Chrome.
  • About your own security software: some VPN and security products inspect web traffic on your computer and can see what your browser displays. That's outside our control — check its settings if this concerns you.

Next: processing your completed questionnaires Early access

When your panel's questionnaires come back, you upload them encrypted with a key only you hold. Processing runs in sealed, short-lived cloud functions — there is no processing server anyone can log into — and everything is destroyed 24 hours after your first download of the report (7 days after the case is created at the latest), with a certificate you can file. Keep your download from the editor: it also includes the scanning map our processing uses to find every answer on your form.
